National Facilitator Training

Powered by art practitioners interested in facilitating around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the National Facilitator Training brought together diverse national cohorts annually from 2015-2019. Arts educators, individual artists, artistic and executive directors, foundation leaders, community engagement staff, stage managers, and other thought leaders in the field participated in a two-weekend, intensive retreat in locales ranging from Los Angeles to New Orleans. The retreat sessions explored core skills needed to facilitate conversations across differences and to address issues of equity on an interpersonal, group, and organizational level. Participants engaged in deep analysis and skills building paired with meaningful discourse on issues of inclusion, equity, and the role of art makers.
